  • Justin founded Blejer Architecture in 2018 as an architecture and design firm. After 20 years living in Brooklyn, Justin moved the office to New Paltz, NY where he and his family now live. Justin brings passion and experience to every one of his projects.

    Prior to starting Blejer Architecture, Justin worked at New York City architecture firms beginning in 2004. He has worked on award winning projects of various sizes and types as a senior architect at Marvel Architects, Robert Young Architects and as a project designer at Tom Winter Architects.Prior to starting Blejer Architecture, Justin worked at New York City architecture firms beginning in 2004.   • Epitome joined Blejer Architecture in 2021 and has been critical to the success of our projects since. She earned her degree in architecture from the New School in NYC in 2015. She lives upstate with her husband and dog Odie.

  • Tommy joined Blejer Architecture in 2024. He has led projects in offices in NYC and California including a design-build firm where he was Project Manager on a Brooklyn passive house townhouse renovation. He received his M.Arch from The University of Illinois, Chicago in 2012. He spends his free time with his wife and two kids as well as playing soccer.

  • Ayaka joined Blejer Architecture in 2023. She received her M.Arch from Columbia University in 2013 and has experience working on residential and commercial projects throughout the Hudson Valley and NYC. Ayaka lives in her hometown of NYC after moving back from Catskill, NY. On her time off, she spends time with her husband and daughter.

  • Ciana joined Blejer Architecture in 2023 after moving to the Hudson Valley from Brooklyn where she received her M.Arch from Pratt Institute. She has experience working in NYC architecture firms and prior to that had a career as graphic designer in Chicago after earing a BFA at UMass Dartmouth. She fills her weekends exploring towns, art spaces, and hiking trails.

  • Greg joined Blejer Architecture in 2024 after completing his M.Arch at the Rhode Island School of Design. Outside of the office, he is a woodworker, runner, and baseball fan.

 

Blejer Architecure

Blejer Architecture is dedicated to creating beautiful architecture. We work to understand the specific needs of each client and project and translate that into functional buildings that are are a joy to be in.

Service - Blejer Architecture is a full service architecture firm that guides clients through their project from inception through construction. We understand for many of our clients this may be their first time engaging an architect. We work closely with our clients to realize their design goals.

Design - We strive to bring design excellence to our projects inside and out. Our process starts with the layout and overall concept of the building, later incorporating the interiors as a cohesive design. Sunlight, views, privacy, indoor/outdoor connection are all considered in addition to the specific use requirements of the clients.

Energy Performance - We believe buildings should be well built and this means energy efficient and comfortable. We bring an understanding of building science and design to our projects. Beyond required code minimums we consider the assembly of the building for efficiency and performance in terms of insulation, weather and vapor control, air tightness and solar gain. Justin has experience and understanding of passive house and energy performance, for example the Montauk Lake House and Guest House which used a foam free approach to Passive House construction.

Craft - We give attention to details, in choosing materials and fittings, designing their connections and considering their finishes. We work closely with builders to insure a project is completed beautifully and with craftsmanship.
